Mataram is a capital city of West Nusa Tenggara province. It has four different towns: Ampenan, Mataram, Cakranegara and Sweta. In Ampenan we will be able to see Lombok and Sumbawa island museums. Besides this city has rich historical places to visit. Wish to do shopping, having meals and sleeping, it is advisable for you to visit Cakranegara or Cakra (for short). This town also has water palace, and Meru temple, a largest Hinduism temple in Lombok. Mataram itself is administrative city, where you will find goverment affair. Finally Sweta is a terminal bus station from which you could visit Sumbawa, Bali, Jawa, Dompu, Bima and others. Now on this terminal bus station has been moved to Bertais, and named MANDALIKA.

Mataram is a government administration city. It has many large, and impressive public buildings, e.g. gouverner offices, hospitals, schools, etc. It also has transportation and shopping facilities and a main square. This square is used for art exhibitions, theater, dance, and wayang kulit (puppet theater) performances. Above all Mataram has also variety of old-style markets and traditional craftwork like basket ware and gold- and silver-threaded sarongs.

Pura Meru is a largest temple in Lombok built in early 18th century for prince Anak Agung Made Karang Asem. Politically this temple was built to unite the various Hindu groups on the island. In an inner courtyard exists 3 Meru ‘multi roofed shrines’. Semiotically these Meru represent three mountains: Semeru, Rinjani,  and Agung located in Java, Lombok and Bali respectively. Pura Segara is a red and white Balinese temple, closed to a Ampenan north beach. To the northeast of the temple you would find an old Chinese cemetery wandering. Thus, you will be doing city sight seeing, shopping in Mataram Shoping Mall, culinary and administration and government affair.
